MEDAL OF DISTINCTION
The certificate you received when you were commissioned a Kentucky Colonel was in recognition of your service and contributions to our Global community. It is no surprise, of course, that you keep giving and additional recognition is deserved! That is why the Honorable Order has created the Kentucky Colonel Medal of Distinction. The Medal is awarded to Colonels who continue to distinguish themselves by their level of support for the Honorable Order’s charitable Good Works Program.
Colonels who are to be listed in our annual Contributors Report will receive the Medal of Distinction. The Honorable Order’s Contributors Report honors those whose financial giving to the Good Works Program reaches or exceeds one hundred dollars. Categories within the report are General’s Staff, Honor Guard, Five Star Council and Platinum Service Circle. Last year, over 5,000 Colonels were listed in the General’s Staff section of the report. Over 1,200 were on the Honor Guard list which indicates a giving level of two hundred dollars. 238 names made up the Five Star Council with a gift of five hundred dollars. The Platinum Service Circle, Colonels contributing one thousand dollars or more, numbered 151. The Medal of Distinction may be worn or displayed as a symbol of continued support of those in this world who are less fortunate.
