 How much does a wheelchair cost? The answer can be as much as $2,000. In recent years, members of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels have contributed over 30 million dollars to the Colonels Good Works program. The money has been distributed, through grants, to organizations serving the handicapped and truly needy, youth programs, museums, educational institutions, etc. Among the grants awarded in recent years are several for the purchase of wheelchairs, included chairs for use in showers at camps for the handicapped. The average cost of these chairs has been just over $700. |
