We Kentucky Colonels have still another reason to thump our chests! The Honorable Order continues to be one of the most efficient charities in the nation. Our audited Fund raising expense for last year was an exceptional low rate of just 8%. For comparison, many charities report percentages of 25% or higher. The Better Business Bureau even suggests a percentage of 35% is “reasonable”.
You can be just as proud of the way projects selected for support with your contributions are chosen. A detailed application is required. The request is then assigned to a member of our Board of Trustees. The Trustee conducts a thorough investigation and reports to the full Board which makes a determination on whether to honor the request. The Trustees, incidentally, serve on a volunteer, non-paid basis.
We can assure you the funds placed in trust with the Honorable Order are expended with the strictest of rules and with the care you rightfully expect. Every penny that can be squeezed out is at work making life better for thousands.
